Fad diets only have a short-term success.  Get back to the basics of eating  “real” food and learn how to eat healthy for a lifetime.  Join Louise Andrews, Holistic Health Coach, for her 4 Lunchtime Learning workshops.

  1. Importance of Carbohydrates – Greens,  Grains  & Fruit   (March 6)  

The basic food groups in the majority of cultures around the world are grains, vegetables and fruit.  These are carbohydrates and sustain us all as human beings and provide necessary nutrition for good health.   Then why do carbs have a bad reputation in our country?   Come hear the benefits, misconceptions and importance of carbohydrates.   Learn about varieties of leafy greens and energizing whole grains.  Bring your questions and concerns and let’s learn together!

  1. Power Proteins & Fabulous Fats  (March  13)

Proteins and fats are an important part of daily nutrition.  They build muscle tissue, control metabolism, lubricate your joints, to name a few.  It’s about balancing the two and making better choices.   Many diets create a fear of fat which can be very misleading.  Hear the differences between healthy fats and proteins.   Determine your metabolic type as a guide to your personal way of eating.  Bring your questions and concerns and let’s learn together!

  1. Deconstructing Your Cravings  (March 20)

We all have cravings at one time or another for sugar, salt, carbohydrates, alcohol, chocolate, to name a few.  What is your body trying to tell you?  Is it physiological or emotional?  Learn to deconstruct the reasons for cravings in order to bring balance to your health.  Bring your questions and concerns and let’s learn together!

  1. Mindfulness   – Creating a Mind-Body Connection to your Life  (March 27)

Are you truly present when eating meals, driving, exercising, having a conversation? If you’re not truly present, this can lead to overeating, weight gain, indigestion, relationship problems, heartburn, impulsivity, body aches, and anxiety.   Learn a few simple techniques to help break bad habits and help you feel better.  This will help your entire family.  Come and be present for 50 minutes and learn life-changing ways to a better you.  Bring your questions and concerns and let’s learn together!
